puppy that eats to fast

My puppy that I've had since 3 mo old. has always eaten fast, He is now 7 mos and eats like a savage. He doesn't chew, always act starving,and will throw up in the middle of the night some times.   I
have tried splitting his food over 4 x a day, I don't know what else to try. He's otherwise happy, healthy and well behaved. He was a rescue brought to me. He is 1/2 rottie 1/2 lab ? shepard.  Any suggestion?

If you will wet the food and wait an hour to feed him, he will actually eat less food as it swells up in water.  That may help. Also, measuring the food so that he is getting his nutrition and no more may help.  Dry food is usually fed at a cup per 20 lbs per day.
