hurt dog ear infection

My dog has black gooey discharge coming out of her ear. We took her to the vet and they gave us something for an ear infection but it didn't work. We've aslo tried medicine for ear mites but nothing has done the trick. We can't figure out what's wrong with our dog or what to do for her. Please help!

Hi Alissa, sometimes the vet has to give you another antibiotic for the infection.  You may want to go back and have the vet take another look.  Also, dogs don't get ear mites too often...Cats get them much more often than dogs..
