QuestionI have a 5 year old female, spayed, chuhuahua. who lost her small male, neutered companion a year ago. I have seen a little male terrier I would like to adopt. I have heard it is best to have a female and a male dog in the same house, as opposed to 2 females or 2 males. Do you agree with this? Thank You
AnswerI have seen households of both sexes get along great- so it's hard to say which is better. Some females accept males easier than another female. Some don't care what sex the dog is.
If you see a nice dog that needs a home and is neutered I would get him. It will take a while for her to fully welcome him but she will be happy in the end. Bless you for giving a dog a second chance at love.
