Question
I have a 2 yr old pit bull. Around her mouth is really red and looks like small blisters. Someone told me that she may be allergic to the plastic bowls her food is in so I got metal. That hasn't helped any if anything her face looks like it has gotten redder. What should I do?

Answer
It does sound like a reaction to something but I am not able to tell you what it might be. It could be a contact dermatitis from grasses outside, or a rug she sleeps on, or any number of things.

You really need to take her in and have your vet give her a good examination. He can ask you questions about things in her environment that will help him determine what this could be.

She will probably need some medication so there is no point in delaying it.
I'd make her an appointment as soon as you can.
