YORKIES VULVA

MY YORKIE HAD HER 1ST HEAT CYCLE IN MAY, AND IT'S NOW SEPTEMBER AND HER VULVA IS STILL SWOLLEN, WHY?
THERE IS NO DISCHARGE, SHE'LL BE A YEAR OLD IN OCTOBER.

Answer
If her vulva is truly swollen then she needs to see the vet. This is way too long after her cycle to be swollen still. Unless she is coming back into an early heat. If it's been swollen the whole 4 months then she really needs to see a vet.

Spaying her is most likely the best way to resolve this as it might be a hormone imbalance.
