Standing ears

Question
Hello,

I have a 2.5 yr old female german shepherd that I paid a lot of money for and her ears dont stand as they should.  My question is if you know of a medical procedure(implant) so to speak to where they would stand?  Or any other suggestions would be welcomed.  We have tried taping them but can't find strong enough glue to stick to the skin.

Help

Thanks

Todd

Answer
There are silicone implants that are available.  There is also a procedure where strong non-absorbable sutures are placed about halfway up the ear attached to the muscles.  These sutures are threaded under the skin of the ear and attached to the muscles on the top of the head.  That will usually make the ears stand.  Check with your vet to find a veterinary surgeon who can do this for you.
