a selled up dog

Question
two days ago our dogs snout,possibly his throat and one eyeball swelled up.the dog was very listless and threw-up two our three time.
the swelling has gone down a litlle and the dog is almost back to normal. he was also panting alot
. any help would be appreciated,

Hi Craig!As for the swollen spot,you should try warm water and apply to the infected eyes for a couple of days until you see a change if it doesn't work take the cat to the Vet it possibly has Upper Respitory and should be treated with Amoxicillian and Eye drops.As for th throwing up,do not let your dog eat for 24 hours after a vomit.During your dogs fast,encourage him to lick his whistle.You can also let him lick an ice cube.As for the limping,
if the dog had an injury of some type, then rest him. Try and confine the dog to a small padded area inside except to potty outside. Many orthopedic problems (other than fractures) heal with time. If the dog is in severe pain, then you may have to take him to a vet for some pain relief.Hope this helps lots!Nicole.D.
