Question
Hello

How much and how offen should I be feeding my two month old golden/lab cross puppy?

How many vaccines should she have this year?

At what age should I have her spayed? (I would like to have her spayed before her first heat cycle)

Do tatoos fade?

Answer
Hi there!  What an adorable puppy this must be!  Two of the sweetest breeds together!
First, an initial physical examination to give your puppy a clean bill of health is a must.
A two month old puppy should be fed twice per day.  You can feed a total of one cup per day and that will increase with your puppy's growth.
Your puppy will have more shots in this first year than any other year of life.  DHLPPC is the booster that is given in three rounds.  The first round is given between 6-8 weeks of age, the second is given around 12 weeks of age, and the third is given around 16 weeks of age accompanied by the Rabies vaccination.  If you are planning to board your puppy, a Bordatella vaccination may be a good idea, as this protects your puppy against Kennel Cough. If you live in a high tick environment, a Lyme's Vaccination (which is given in two rounds, 2-4 weeks apart) may be a good choice.  A year from the last set of vaccinations, your puppy will receive a DHLPPC booster shot, the Rabies vaccination and Bordatella and Lymes if you choose to vaccinate against those above listed ailments.  Depending on what state you are in, after this, your dog may not need her shots every year, but every other year.  You will have to check with your veterinarian about the legalities of the Rabies vaccination in your area.
Spaying is the best thing to do, and generally spaying is done by 6 months of age. Some veterinarians will perform this surgery as early as 3 months of age, but in my area, it is performed between 5-6 months of age.  A female dog reaches sexual maturity on average between 6-9 months.  I have heard of a female dog's first heat beginning at 4 months of age, but that is not very common.
Tatoos will fade a bit over time, but will still be legible.
I hope this has answered your questions, if you have any more, please feel free to ask away!
Congrats on your new baby girl and give her tons of kisses for me!
Wishing that little baby a long and healthy life,
Hilary
