Question
My 4 year old thriving Male W. 4 weeks ago got his annual vacs at locat vet. 5 days later he became sore when you touched his back - a large lump developed off the side of his stomach. He also had spots all in his ears and was sneezing alot at one point. The vet x-rayed him & excised the wound which just looked to be dry blood. It was about the size of a tennis ball. The blood tests came back clear except for showing some muscular enzymes - x rays were also clear. She presumed that perhaps he had been kicked by one of our horses ( which could have happened but we hadn't seen this) She prescribed rimadyl - a few days later he developed lumps all over his body which were hard & as big as marbles. These were sore to touch - he also had a temperature and would shake & shudder until I put a blanket on him. I took him back to the vet and she cut out a lump & sent it to pathology. The summary comment on this on the return report was that it wassubacute locally extensve nertuphilic to pyogranykiniatiys & fibrosing panniculites. She has now prescribed macrolone. My beautiful healthy dog of 4 weeks ago has lost heaps of weight and looks10 years older than he did prior to these vaccinations. Is it likely this has produced this condition even though he hasn't had a reaction before and what would you reccommend as the best form of treatment

Answer
Lesley,
I am sorry but this is beyond my expertise. I think you should repost this to one of the veterinarians here. I am a vet tech and cannot diagnose or recommend treatments (as it states on my profile).
I do hope that you can find a treatment for this. I have no idea if it even related to the vaccination.

But please repost this to one of the vets. One of them does dermatology so he might be the one to ask.
