Parasite?

Hello, I wonder if you can help me. My dog appears to have a type of worm coming out of his skin, I can see two on eon his side and one on his flank.  They look like his skin but long and firmly attached! They don't seem to be moving but we can't remove them either.  The last couple of days he had been very itchy, scratching a lot.  The vets are shut for the next couple of days, have you any idea what this could be? Thank you for your time.

It sounds as if there isn't a parasite but a growth on your dog's skin.  I do not recommend trying to remove the "growths" but allow a veterinarian to examine them first.  I cannot say for sure since I have not physically examined your pet, but I highly doubt that the "worms" you see warrant an emergency visit to the veterinarian.  Leave the skin alone and allow the vet to determine the nature of the mystery of the "growths".
