Question
We have a Pomeranian, he loves Dingo Bones but occassionally he begins choking late at night. He suddenly starts to run around in circles, or in a wild disoriented manner. He tries to vomit but cannot, we're not sure how to help him because he so small and we fear we can hurt him more. What should we do, up till now it corrects itself but we would never forgive ourself should something happen to him.

Answer
Hi Jerry:  Please don't give him the Dingo Bones any more.  Don't give anything that will not desindergrate when he chews it.  Too dangerous for him... He is a soft palate dog and can have problems even choking on regular foods.

When your little one is in one of the episodes he may not be getting any oxygen. Sounds like you have just been lucky.

Please give him some healthy treats that he can chew and digest.  Mother Hubbard makes a good brand.  Also, the Blue Dog Bakery makes some good small doggie cookies.... very special treats.  I think you can get Blue Dog products at Walmart.

Good Luck with the new treats...
