cat with feline leuk

my cat ty has feline leukemia.  a couple months ago she was bone white
(14.7) and i figured it was time.  i decided against a blood transfusion and my
vet sent me home with some vitamin syrup and asked me to bring her back
when she started having trouble breathing - well that was months ago and
she is pink and doing well.  i have never heard of this happening.  three
weeks before she crashed i put advantage on her.  i don't know if this caused
anything.  any thoughts??   happy but baffled in indy

I have not seen any reports of Advantage causing severe anemia. It can cause a localized inflammatory reactions occasionally. I have never seen a Leukemia positive cat improve after they have developed anemia unless they were transfused. Was there actually a flea problem initially and could the anemia have been caused by a severe flea infestation which has since been controlled?
I do not have any other explanation but I am certainly happy for you and your kitty!
