Question
I found a kitten this morning who is very weak and sleeps a lot. She hasn't eaten and has only drank a few drops of milk by a dropper.  She does not appear to be abandoned, maybe just wandered away from home. I want to help her while waiting to hear from the owner's (I;m placing a "FOUNF" ad) Please help me! She is so unresponsive. Thank you!

Answer
Hi Tiffany!  I would definately suggest having this kitten checked out by a veterinarian. Sometimes, kittens' blood sugar level takes a nose dive, leaving them hypoglycemic.  This causes the kitten to be very lethargic and weak.
Be sure not to feed her cow's milk. Contrary to popular belief, cats are lactose intolerant, meaning they can not digest the sugar enxymes that are in milk, and this will cause diarrhea which will lead to dehydration.
Try feeding her some baby food (chicken or beef) mixed with some water through a dropper.  Baby food often stimulates the appetite.  You may also want to try KMR (kitten milk replacer) which is very much like a mother cat's milk.  This is fortified with lots of nutrients and calories.
She really sounds as though she is in need of veterinary care. Until you can get her to the veterinarian, you may want to feed her a mixture of sugar and water to try to bring her sugar levels up.  Hypoglycemia is very serious, so getting her to your veterinarian as soon as possible would be best.
I hope this helps and please let me know how she does!
