Sickness?

I have a dog who is 8-9 months old, and just today he has become extremely tired, which is not very normal for him.  He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, so he is very small. Now he can't stand up straight.  His tummy is bulging and he is rubbing is ears on the ground and itching them a lot.  Sometimes his stomach rumbles and he burps like he might throw up.  He can't climb the stairs and isn't as excited as he normally is. What is wrong with him?

I couldn't say what could be wrong with him but if his stomach is bloated this could be very serious as in life threatening. Dogs can easily twist their stomachs if they eat then play a lot.

While it usually happens to bigger, deep chested dogs, it can happen to any dog.

This could be a true emergency!! You need to call your local vet right now and tell them you are coming in with him.

No joke, they won't last long without intervention IF that is what is the matter with him.

Otherwise he could just be full of worms that have reached a point of filling his gut up. In that case, he still needs to see a vet.

The belching and distended stomach make me VERY nervous that this is a twisted gut.
