Question
QUESTION: I have been feeding a young stray cat who recently gave birth. She comes by every afternoon to eat and is eating well. The problem is I can not find where she is hiding her kittens. I would like to make sure they are doing okay. The mother cat let's me pet her and now I can even pick her up, I would like to get the kittens use to people so they can be adopted. I plan on having the mother fixed and keeping her. Any help on how to find the kittens would help.

ANSWER: About the only thing you can do is follow her at some point. Most cats that act like her will actually bring the kittens out when they get close to weaning age, but by then they are pretty wild. Not untameable however.

I had a wild cat that let me feed her bring me her kittens when they were six weeks old. She literally tore a hole in my screen door and dumped the kittens through the hole one by one!!
So you just never know what they might do.
Other wise after you feed her, follow her outside and watch where she goes.
Then listen for little mewing sounds! As she approaches them they will cry louder.

QUESTION: Thank you for your answer. I have followed her,but when she sees me she ran towards me. If she brings the kittens to me would it be alright for me to handle them. I do not want the mother to quit taking care of them. Again, Thank You.

Answer
She won't quit taking care of them unless something happens to them. Watch her from a distance, not close by. Other wise she will come to you.
You are lucky she is so sweet and loving. She will be a good cat and she is most likely a great mom too.
Give it some time and you will probably see her with the kittens once they are walking well at around 4 weeks.
