Frontline Plus and ticks

Question
I have kept my dogs on Frontline Plus since with got them. I recently found a tick on my dog, it was living and feeding. I pulled it off, getting the head and claws. I looked at pictures and believe it to be a deer tick. I was wondering why the frontline did not kill it and if I should be worried about lyme disease. Thank you,

Answer
Frontline is not a repellent!  You  can see fleas and ticks on the hair coat, and often the ticks will be crawling, but they will not penetrate the skin. That's how it prevents Lyme disease. When the tick's feet touch the insecticide,it is rapidly absorbed and they begin to die. It takes 24 hours for them to be dead.
