My dog has a morning cough...

My dog has been starting to only cough in the morning...shes a lab mix and about 6 months old...we also jsut started her in a kennel to sleep to help her with her potty training...After she coughs for like a minute shes done and is ready to run around and play! What could it be?

Morning coughing can be from too many things to list here- besides she will probably need her throat looked at.

Puppies get tonsilitis, they get grass and things stuck in their tonsils, they get irritations, kennel cough, even heartworms that can cause a cough.

Hopefully she has been on heartworm prevention since she was 6-7 weeks old, and is fully vaccinated.

6 months old is really a late start for potty training. You will have to be very vigilant to get her to potty outside. I wish you well with that!

As far as the cough, I would have her looked at when if it continues, because of the nature of how many things that it could be.
