QuestionMy dog has now lost 4 claws off her rear paws in the last two weeks.
She is a 7 year old Shepherd Cross who is looked afttr well - house dog!
Is this possibly the sign of a vitamin deficiency.
We are back with our local for the fourth visit in two weeks on sunday!

AnswerHi Barrie. It is possible that the claw loss could be due to a calcium deficiancy. Getting her to your vet would be an excellent idea. Are you sure she hasn't pulled the claws on anything? If the nailbeds were bleeding, it is possible that she is continually catching her claws on something. I would have her checked for a calcium deficiancy, which requires just a few drops of blood and about 10 minutes to get the results. Please keep me posted!
Best of luck!
