diarreah with my yorkie

My yorkie has had the diarreah for 4 days now.We have not changed his food or his treats.He is on the heartworm pill and july is the 2nd mnth we have given it to him.He is 7mnths old. Do i need to take him in or change his food.He is on Eagle Brand and that has never changed. Thank you

Hi Kelly: Eagle Brands is a very good food.  He may have a little virus.

Try some canned pumpkin ( pure pumpkin) - Give about 2 teaspoons full/ per day .

This will firm up the stools.

Also, see if you can get some - Acidophilus  ( Good Bacteria )
You can get this for children in liquid or tablets.  Give the child's dosage of this  - 1 -2 times per day... ( again, follow the directions for a child's dosage according to the weight of your dog)
