Question
I took her to the vet this morning....but here is the story. She has a cyst/Tumor on her breast it didn't grow and when I touched it it did not seem to hurt her any. But the other night I was at home and noticed it was very hot and red. I put a cold compress on it, The next morning I took her out to potty and she was fine. Then I was loooking for a vet I knew she had a slight infection. I came home that night to a horrible sight- her breast was triple the size and very red and black and swollen. I freaked out she hadn't ate any of her food- I took her to my Dads and he said she was acting like she wasn't in horrible pain but to take her to the vet in the morning. I then went home applied a cold compress and then a warm compress and so on. She ate a few treats and drank water while watching tv. I slept with her last night and she was fine. Then I woke up to her with a pool of clear bodiliy fluids then I went and got ready and came back her cyst had ruptured - she must have been biting it during the course of the night- I was so worried. I took her to the vet and he is checking her out and will remove the cyst tommorow so her wound will heal up good.

I am worried do you think she will be okay?

Answer
Hi Susan:  This can happen to a cyst.  With some good antiboitics and your VET's help, she should recover well.  There will be a large area to heal.  Your vet will explain how to clean the area and apply medications.  Also, she may go home with some pain medication.  Sometimes the healing process can be uncomfortable.

Don't worry too much.   Sounds like she is in good hands.
