Hamster Bleeding

I know you only except dog and cat questions, but if you can please try to help me with this as much as you can.I have a question about my tiny little hamster. It is a female and shes little, shes gray and has a black stripe down her back. She lives with another hamster,another female, but I just moved her into a small cage alone with no wheel at all because my father said it is probably her period and she is best off without exercise. She is bleeding from her vagina and i was wonderng what this could be. Can you please give lots of suggestions and answers to this as I cannot afford a vet right now. Thank you , Nikki

Hamsters will go into heat (have their period) every 4 days.  If there is a lot of bleeding or she is not acting normally you should take her to the vet.  And hamsters should not be kept together as they are solitary animals and will fight...there is a possibility that the other hamster bit her in that area as well.
