lump on rib

my toy poodle has a lump on his left rear floating rib that is getting bigger month by mouth. what is it and to who in my area of oregon should i take him with the experince and expertise needed to treat it?  location coos bay oregon 97420.

You should take your poodle to a local veterinarian for an examination.  Sometimes you can tell what it is by feeling the mass or aspirating a sample from the mass.  But generally, the mass must be removed and sent to the pathology lab for biopsy to tell exactly what kind of growth it is.  For a referral, your best bet is to talk to neighbors and friends and go to a vet that they like.  You can go to www.avma.org.
