Question
Hi there.  We recently brought home two kittens and are not sure what the best idea is for where they should sleep.  Right now, we give them the run of the house at night, except for the bedroom.  The places where they sleep during the day (guest bed, couch, cat tree perch) don't seem to be their choice at night.  For the past two mornings, when I get up, they crawl out from under a storage container (approx. 3 inches of space underneath) and stretch and seem to take some time to warm up to me again.  I worry that it is not good for them to sleep in such a tiny space and that they "forget" us at night.  Should we let them into our bedroom?  Would a "tent like" cat bed coax them out of that space?

Answer
Hi April!  Congrats on your new additions!  Cats love hiding in small spots to snooze, so there is no need for concern.  You could definately try the cat bed.  It never worked for my kitties though.  My hubby and I share our bed with 5 cats and a shih tzu hehe, so I would definately say, share your bedroom with the little guys!  They love to cuddle and snuggle up to you when they sleep.  Whatever you are comfortable with would be fine, although closing the door on them may make them feel as though you're abandoning them, hence the "getting to know you" time in the morning.  Cats do accomidate to their living situations after a routine has been made.  They will adjust to whatever you choose in time.
Give those babies tons of kisses for me!
