Question
Today i came home to a normally outgoing friendly cat, that was now laying in her carrying crate(bed) and wouldnt come out for anything....her tongue is hanging out slightly with what appears to be saliva around her mouth(small amunt) she has a sort of no emotion expression and wont walk very far. her breath also smells notciabbly different, normally smells like fish or something.  now smells of dead animal. i felt her body parts and stomach area and she really has no reaction. i had a feeling she may have worms because she looks too thin...but shes been eating nrmally and shes not dehydrated...hopefully i can get her into the local vet ASAP

Answer
Katherine,
As you have already stated this cat is in dire need of medical care.
What you might be smelling is the breath of a cat with severe azotemia, which is basically blood poisoning from her kidneys not working.
If it isn't her kidneys, she may be at end stage cancer. That could be why she is so thin. Worms can make them thin but not with the breath smell you are describing. Some cancers don't manifest themselves until the cat is put over the brink of living with it. That's why we see the "one day she was fine and the next dying" syndrome a lot. We just don't see what is going on inside. You didn't mention her age but they get it at any age it seems.

She may have drank some antifreeze some one left out. It is sweet and dogs but sometimes cats get into it. Cats don't normally drink odd stuff nor do they like sweet stuff but some of them can't refuse it.
She is possibly suffering from acute renal failure as a result. You need to find an emergency vet or call your vet and tell them what kind of shape she is in. She cannot not wait until morning to be seen.

IF she is started on fluids right away and IF she didn't get into antifreeze she might have a chance to make it. From what you are describing this is a very dire circumstance so please get on the phone and start calling.
Hopefully later you can tell me what she has and what happened.
I will be praying for you and her.
