Dogs Mouth

Question
Hello,

My dog seems to be having a problem in the mouth area.  In the middle outer area of the mouth, you know where the dogs black lips are. You have to lift the lip open to see it but it isn't inside the mouth.  On both sides there is this black stuff coming out.  It gets all over the sheets and rug when he is lying down.  The best way for me to describe this is it look like black mucus, but this is him mouth so it's not.  What can this be and can anything over the counter treat it?

Thanks for your help.
Dennis

Answer
Hi Dennis!I am sorry it took so long for me to reply! My computer had over 5 bad viruses and it took a while for a computer expert to fix it.Again,I am sorry!

I have never heard of this before but it sounds to me like your pooch may have some kind of a mouth infection, it may be from his gums, tongue or internal. Please take him to the vet as soon as possible for an evaluation. I hope this is helpful and good luck! Please keep me posted and give that doggy some kisses for me!
