My 6 month old puppy is developing bald spots.  The woman who gave me the puppy said the dad had "mange"  (sp?).  She said there is a medicine to give her that would cure it.  What can you tell me about it?

If the puppy has mange, you need to let your vet treat it.  Mange is actually little insects that live in the skin and cause damage to the hair follicles, which results in the hair falling out.  The problem is that these mites live deep in the skin and it takes some pretty strong insecticides to get to them.
