Question
Hi for the last 3 days my  female 2yr old has been throwing up,she does not have a temp, and does seem fine during the day, after she throws up she wants to eat. she had puppies 10 weeks ago and became sick because her calcium levels were low, she has been eating puppy chow, because I have it down for the puppy, could it be that, Is there anything I can give her like maalox or some chicken broth, I will take her in if needed, could you please help me ? Thank you Marsha

Answer
Hi Marsha!  I would definitely suggest a vet visit. Because her calcium levels were low, she may be experiencing this again.  Your veterinarian will be able to give her a canine safe medication to soothe her stomach.  At this point, I would not give her anything over the counter, as if this is due to a calcium deficiancy, this may only make it worse.  I would definitely make an appointment as soon as possible with your veterinarian, as vomiting this long can lead to dehydration, which definitely wouldn't be good!
Please let me know how she is doing!  I have a little 2 year old shih tzu boy.  Aren't they just the greatest dogs?  I'll bet those puppies are the absolute cutest!
Best of luck and good wishes, from one "smooshy face" lover to the next,
Hilary
