Penicillin for 70 lb. dog

I have a 60 to 70 lb. black lab.  He has a stuffy nose and runny eyes.  I have some injectable penicillin but I don't know how much to give him.  Can you help?

Hi Kim!  I am so sorry, but unfortunately, by law, I can not give out dosages unless I have seen the pet.  Was this penicillin prescribed for a pet? Generally, amoxicillin is the antibiotic used for pets, as I have never heard of penicillin used for an animal.  If it has been prescribed for a human, or a different pet, I would not recommend using this at all, as penicillin can cause allergic reactions.  Your best bet would be to take your dog to your veterinarian for diagnosis and to prescribe the type of antibiotic that would be needed to rid this upper respiratory infection and that would be safe.
