QuestionMy 10 year old mixed breed female dog recently underwent surgery for bladder stones. She is on a special diet of a kind of dry dog food to help prevent a recurrence, but she is losing weight because she eats very little of it. Can other foods, such as chicken broth, be added to the dry food for flavor? Or will this contribute to the problem?
AnswerHi Rick: Ok, she needs more calories but is on a special diet. If you don't get more food into her then Health will fail.
I understand your concern:
Chicken Broth is ok a few times per week. Very high in salt content.
You can try to buy the low salt kind.
Also, you can add Salmon Oil to her food - Just place 1 teaspoon on top of the dry food 1 x per day. ( that should help)
Make sure it is PURE salmon oil... ( adds calories, too)
Next - try her on some NuVET Plus Powder / add this to the other dry food meal 1 x per day. NuVET makes a wafer or powder. The powder will make her food tasty and offer her some excellent vitamins and supplements. This is an Immune System Booster ...
It will cost you about .60 cents per day for the NuVET powder treatments. Call Joan today: She can walk you thru the first order.
Order from the Manufacture and save 45 % of what the vet would mark it up... 1-800-474-7044 EXT 265 ( Joan)
Money back guaranteed...
Taste guaranteed ..
You add a small amount of water to the food and then mix in the NuVET Powder... ( very small amount of water)
