cat and worms

i just moved in with my mother in NV. i have 1 cat and she has 3 i noticed that my cat has tapeworms can her cats get them. and can any eggs get carried over to my sisters house on my mother and i. my sister has 2 cats also. and does the otc meds work on tapeworms. what do you suggest.

Hi Shana, If possible, can you test them all for worms - then they all will need to be treated.  Also, there are many kinds of worms beside the tape worm.
Not too many kinds of meds that are OTC... You need a vet for the powerful stuff.
Yes, they can pass them around..
