My dogs leg hurts.

Question
My dog is about 5 years old, today I took him outside played with him and everything was fine. I put him up for about an hour or so and when I went to get him out I noticed right away he was acting different, I noticed when I was petting him that his back left leg is hurting him. He can still walk on it but you can tell it bothers him, he will not jump to even get on the sofa. I am planning on taking him to our vet at the start of the week but wanted to know what it could be and how I could help with pain. Should I wrap it up?

Answer
No, because wrapping it could cause it to swell. It's possible that he hurt his knee joint running around. It's a very common injury with humans and dogs. It involves the ACL, which is the ligaments of the knee.

Hopefully, he didn't tear it. If he just stretched or bruised it, he will most likely get some anti-inflammatory from the vet and you will have to make sure he is kept quiet.

He may have just pulled a muscle or sprained his leg.
