oil got onto animals fur

Hello, I recently lightly oiled parts of my hamster's wheel with some vegetable oil so that it wouldn't keep me awake all night as he's running around in there.

It seemed a tiny amount got on his fur, so now it's not as fluffy as before. What can I do?

Hi James!  The vegetable oil should wear off in a short while.  If you would like to give your hamster a bath, your local pet store should have some special shampoos that are made just for hamsters.  I wouldn't use any other kind of shampoo, as hamsters have a different pH than other animals do, including humans!
