Puppy growth

Question
I bought a Cock-a-poo and the seller said the mother was the Cocker that weighted 17 lbs. and was 2 years old, and the father was the poodle and weighted 12 lbs.  The puppy seems to be growing at a rate that I feel she is going to get to 25-30 lbs. Later I thought about the fact that Cockers got to 25-30 lbs. and I believe the seller was "mistaken" about the mother's weight.
With all that said...what I want to know is, what is the growth rate of a puppy each month, such as does it double for a while then slack up, and when does it stop growing?

Answer
Hi Cindy,

Did you get to meet the sire and the dam?  If you didn't then you can't take your breeders word.

Dogs usually stop growing at about a year and then fill out.

You also have to ask the breeder what type of poodle that was bred. Was it a mini, teacup or standard.

You are correct on the size of cockers. They can even get to 40 pounds.

I cannot tell you the growth per month, every dog is different. Puppies tend to gain 1-2 pounds per month.

Hope this helps some.
