Cat With Eye Problems?

Question
I have a 'special needs' kitty who has all the symptoms of Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Both I and the vet had assumed that's what she had, since she's had her wobble since I got her, and there is no physical reason for it. She gets around fine, and other than having a bad habit of falling over, and needing some padding under her favorite 'high places', she's normally fine.

Lately, I have noticed she seems to have problems with focusing on things in front of her face. She seems cross-eyed, and she will often bump her nose into it as she tries to explore it, as if she has no to poor depth perception. Is this another symptom of her CH, or should I be worrying that there may be something worse in her brain?

Answer
It's maybe not so much her vision, but the way her brain is interpreting the things she is seeing. I guess that could be the same thing, but it's unlikely a new manifestation.

The syndrome doesn't usually worsen with age or change in any way. But if you think that this cross-eyed look is new or the bumping is new then you should call your vet and touch bases with them.

They can then advise you better whether or not she needs to be seen.
