Question
I  have an eight year old ragdoll cat....overweight.  I've tried reducing the amount food and trying to increase his activity level but does not seem to effect him ... doesn't finish the bowl of food and activity level is still low (we got a puppy about six weeks ago which has increased his isolation (staying in the bedroom) and decreased his activity.   He'll play for abouot 1/2 hour but hten would rather watch me play.  Hes approximately 23lbs and the vet had me reduce his food to 1/2 cup (nutro indoor cat food).  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I would also like to know what supplements would be beneficial.  And probably most importantly how to I get him to move? Than you for your time.

Hi Laurie, Overweight kitty... Sure, I would love to help you.
I would try kitty on a new food; Natural Balance makes a great cat food:
This one is great for LESS active cats:

Also, our NuVET Feline Supplement will help to give kitty some NEW FOUND energy.
NuVET Feline helps to kick start a slow metabolism.

I would place 1 teaspoon of WET canned Natural Balance cat food on top of the Natural Balance Dry food.  ADD 1/2 teaspoon --per meal, of the NuVET feline powder and mix with a little warm water:   ( NuVET powder , Dry Natural Balance and Canned Natural Balance)
Feed kitty 2 meals per day.  ( NO snacks in between meals, and no kitty treats)

SEE here:  NuVET is NOT sold in stores:  Holistic and All Natural

Tell them you are working with Pet Nurse Marie.  Make sure they know you want the FELINE and not the Canine formula... we have one for dogs, too.

The NuVET Web site Does not sell the 39.00 bottle/  It must be called-in... THEY only sell the larger size bottles on the web site:

Play time????  Well,
For a toy, have you seen the bird on a tick ?   It sits on a pole and a bird hangs off.  MOST cats will play 5 minutes per day or more if you shake the stick in front of them.

HOPE this helps,
