Traveling with puppy from Poland, through Germany and to USA

Question
Hi:

I am planning to buy a boxer puppy from reputable breeder in Poland and I was considering flying back to USA with German airlines Lufthansa from Berlin.

Puppy will have all the required shots, microchip and  European Union animal passport. However puppy may be less than 3 months old and not vacinated against rabis yet.
I am also planning to have puppies tail docked and ears cropped.

In order to get from Poland to the airport Tagel in Berlin i need to cross polish-german border with a puppy.

I was wondering if German border patroll will create me any problems when crossing border from Poland to Germany on my way to the airport, because  puppy will be less than 3 months old and will not have rabis vaccine yet. Another issue?
Also, can they create me problems because the dog has docked tail and cropped ears?

i am not planning to stay in Germany, I will only need to cross Polish -German border and will go directaly to the airport.

I will be very thankfull for your reply.Best ragards

Answer
Dear Joanna
The EU pet passport should deal with everything.  Get a health cert
from your veterinarian within 10 days of travel.  Have him/her
simply write on the health cert that dog is too young for rabies vac.
If the dog is as old as 4 mos, then you probably will need a rabies
vac that is at least 30 days old.
Where did you ever get the idea that docked tail and cropped ears
would be a problem?  This makes no sense.  Do NOT worry about some-
thing like this.
Check with Lufthansa, or whatever airline, before you travel and
explain your entire situation regarding age and vaccination record.
They will have final say.
Entry into USA at young age with no rabies is no problem.  Customs
may have you sign a statement saying you will get rabies vac as
soon as possible.
