Red Devil behavior

Question
Hello   I have 2 Red Devils in a 55 gal tank.  Water parameters are ideal, I test my water approx. every 10 days. I feed them 1 time a day. Usually frozen blood worms or brine shrimp. My question is about the behavior of the female recently.  She hides in the corner, head down and stays there all day.  This has been going on for about 3 weeks now maybe a little longer. There are no signs of disease that I can see, and when I feed them she comes right out and eats well.  She is still feisty when she does come out of the corner, I am just concerned about the way she just lays in the corner. Any information you can give my would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Bill, it could be that your male is aggressive towards her and she feels frightened or it could be she is pregnant and laying eggs. I would add some aquarium salt to your tank to reduce the stress in your tank and it will make the male a little more timid and will help the female out if she is pregnant also. Good Luck!
