My Goldfish has a damaged mouth

Question
Hi, I noticed two days ago that my goldfish had like a blister on her top lip. She is a very energetic goldfish so it is hard to get a close look at her, but today it looks more like a tear and a swelling at either side and the swelling has made her top lip look white. She is very happy, eating well. When she pokes her head out of the water at feeding time you can hardly see the mark. Last week she had been laying eggs and all was fine. I have had a look in all my books but it looks like nothing in any of them.

Answer
Hi Emma: treat her wound with MALAFIX and it should help her to recover.  Goldfish use their mouth to constantly forage and she probably just got a wound from something in the tank.  It could be that she has fungus but it doesn't sound like it.  Try the Malafix and if it does not get better let me know... dave
