Question
QUESTION: hi, i just got a 26 gal and it came with 3 gold barbs,1 black phantom tetra,1
silver tip tetra, and 2 leopard plecos ( to be moved)   it is well planted I'm hoping
to get some Cory catfish  if they are compatible with the plecos I would also like
to have some more teras and maybe a bolivn ram.

ANSWER: Hi Susan:  Cory Catfish are compatible with Plecostomus... though they are both bottom feeders you will need to supplement their diet with algae wafers.  I would recommend that you add at least two more black phantom tetra and two or more silver tip tetra.  One of the plecostomus can stay with the tetra tank.  Plecostomus are very territorial and you should really have only one per tank. If you add the ram then you will need to add at least two.  With all shoaling fish such as the tetra and even the ram they work best in groups of six or more.  If you have additional questions please let me know... dave

QUESTION: thank you so much for getting back to so quickly!!!! after ive rehomed the
seconed pleco are there any other fish( other than the ones we already talked
about) i could add? thanks again, ive never gotten a reponse so quickly. ps. i
will add what you suggested to help my currect singles be able to school.

Answer
Any of the community fish would be fine except for loaches... they are hard on plants.  I would suggest maybe a gourami or even a pair of angelfish.  The tetra family is broad and full of different kinds of fish.  I am particularly fond of the RUMMY NOSE tetra.  They have a red nose, silver body, and a checker board tail.  Raspbora are very nice fish too.  dave
