My Betta is anorexic

Question
We have a male Betta at work that has stopped eating.  He is about 2 1/2 years old, and he really  has a large frame--his head area is large and normal looking, but the rest of him has gotten really thin.He doesn't respond anymore when we drop his pellets in, and is significantly less active than normal.  He has no outward signs of infection, and his fins all look nice & healthy.  Is he just reaching the end of his lifespan?  His color is still normal, but he simply won't eat.  I thuoght about dropping some brine shrimp in to see if he'll eat that, but I don't know if that's a good idea.  Please direct me!  I'm afraid he's starving himself.

Answer
Hi Mary Kay;

He is indeed an old little fella. Just keep his tank extra clean and maybe put it in a warmer spot to encourage appetite. Bettas like live foods such as brine shrimp, black worms and blood worms. Even frozen brine shrimp would be worth a try. Good luck with him.....
