Traveling with my betta

Question
Hello, I attend school in Montana (MSU) and live in Seattle, I will be going back home during the summer and I would like to take my betta with me. I will be driving (12 hours) and am wondering what would be the best way to do this. I have the little plastic cup that he came in and was planning on keeping him in that while I drive. I am concerned however, because when I clean out his bowl I put him in the little cup and it looks like his color starts to fade! I don't want him to die because he doesn't have enough water, but I don't have enough room in my car for a big tank (I pack every square inch of the car with my stuff). Anyway, is there something I can do to safely transport him home?

Answer
It would be very hard to do this.  You are risking your bettas life.  Just try to drive as good and as calm as possible.  Do not make a lot of water transferrances, and slow feeding.  Kinda shuts his system down, if you know what I mean.  If he dies within a few weeks you'll knw what the problem is.

Hope all goes well,
Paul
