Question
hello,
i have a question regarding about food for my cichlid. i have peacock and fry and i was wondering if its healthy and best to feed the white worm. and blood worm? w/ flakes and pellet? would they bloat from worm? or do they ever bloat? because they keep eating non stop. they are from size 3-6 and fry are from new born to 2inches.
also about sand. i have a sand tank and it seem to much cleaning the sand bed. stirring it so gas wont built up. i was wondering if crush coral sand is better. does gas built up in coral sand?
thanks,
ken

Answer
Hi Ken,
You can feed worms but not exclusively worms.  You should try to get them to eat some green flake food (which usually contains spirulina algae).

Your sand may be too fine.  Really fine sand traps gas, regardless of whether it is coral or not.  Consider adding in some larger grains and that will  help.
