Question
Yesterday, i bought 2 red parrot fish. They were very active before i bought them and in the bag on the way home.
I put them in the water and they swam around a lot. I put stress coat in the water and i use a carbon filter. I have a tropical tunel and they have been hiding in it since last night. They won't even come out to eat. Is there anything i can do to make them come out. Should i leave the lamp on all day and night. What should the tempurature be? Is something that has to so with the tempurature?? They are mates too. one female one male. Please help me asap!!!

Answer
Hi Jessica,
Give them time.  Imagine if you had been scooped up from where you live, put in a bag and then deposited in an entirely new place.  It will take them some time, possibly weeks, to feel comfortable in their new home.  They might not eat for several days.

The water temperature should be around 80oF.

The most important thing right now is not to let uneaten food accumulate in the tank.  If they don't eat the food right away, you must take it out. Otherwise, it will rot and foul the water, which will kill
your fish.
