Question
ok, so what happened first was that there was about 50-80 eggs on a rock at our house. we noticed that they were an orange color. they then started to turn white.we bought minnows from vi pets and then noticed the eggs.2-3 days later the eggs disopered.our other fish in the tank died. we then noticed little white things sticking to the glass on the inside of the tank.these things started to move around.what we want to know is if we should get the parents out of the tank and let the white things go away on there own or if they are the babies of the jaguar fish.

Answer
Hi Tim,
The eggs and the little white things are unrelated.  The eggs turned white because they were not fertilized correctly and so they died (turned white).  The white is actually a water mold that colonizes dead fish eggs.  The parents would have then eaten the eggs.

The little white worms are a sign that you need to be doing more water changes in your tank.  They only appear when there is too much free nitrogen in the water.  This is not something you fix by adding a chemical. You fix it by doing regular weekly partial water changes.  You should be changing 25% of the water in your tank once a week, every week to keep your fish happy and healthy.    In the short term, I suggest you do a 25% water change today, then again tommorrow and then again the next day.  Odds are that the worms will disappear.  Then continue with the regular weekly water changes.
