pink convict

I have a Pink convict that i believe is sick. Its belly has gotten really big and it just happened today. It is having trouble swimming to the top of the tank for food so it just sits on the bottom. its stomach almost looks swollen. I dont know what to do. is it dying?

Chelsea,   Your baby has a swim bladder infection. When they get this thier bladder bloats and they having a problem staying upright because it is part of its lateral line its like their equalibrium. Lets fix this quick. Go to the pet shop and get tetracycline follow the directions. Don't forget to remove your carbon from your filter while your medicating. Hopefully we get this soon enough. This particular speices of cichlid is pretty hardy. Let me know how things go. Good Luck, Tina
