why does my rainbow shark have a large belly now?

Recently I've noticed one of my rainbow sharks now has a huge belly.It seems to act normal,but still has a huger belly.Could it be that it's about to lay eggs? Or may be it could be sick?
I have a male and a female and an algae eater.what should I look for if they are about to lay eggs

Hi Keisha,
  Either is possible, though sadly I suspect that the fish is sick.  When a fish is about to lay eggs, it gets large, but not HUGE in the belly.  Worse yet, this sort of thing is pretty much impossible to treat successfully in my opinion. Sorry.
