betta with hole above eye

Question
my male beta fish has 1 hole right above his right eye, and one right above his left eye. And he gets scared at the slightest sound. We bought a female beta and he seems to like her, but i'm too afraid to breed them, becasue i think the male betta has some type of sickness. Hope u know what's wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nerina,                                                      I have never heard of a betta having hole in the head disease, but i guess it can happen.....medicating with harsh chemicals in a usually not filtered tank is hard ... I would recommend you direct this question to chris robbins... expert. I hope she is not in there with him. She can catch this if this is what it is... very contagious.....breeding is a whole other book... That i can help you with .... please get back to me and let me know whats going on....Good Luck, Tina
