african chiclid tank with bugs

Question
I have a 55 gallon African cichlid tank, With four fish that are 3 to 4 inches.  I do partial water changes, and filter changes every other month.  I have duel top fead filter that id supposed to accommodate a 100 gallon tank.  Just recently I started to notice little nats, greenish in color on the top of my water and lights.  My fish don't seem stressed, they are very active.  But seem to be loosing appetite.

Hi Beckey,
  You need to be doing much more frequent water changes.  You should be changing about 25% of their water once a week, every week to keep the water in good condition. Doing so will eliminate the gnat problem and keep your fish healthy.
