my red oscar fish

Question
how do i no if i have a boy and girl or 2 boys or girls, and my larger fish keep following the oter around. its bumping into the other, something was comming out from up under the tummy area the other day and the larger one ate it, it wont leave the other alone sence that day but i have'nt seen anything else come out all i see is the bigger one following the smaller one around the tank and wont give it a rest.

Hi Blossie,
  That is one of the fun things about oscars: the boys and the girls look the same.  More exactly, not all oscars look the same, but any differences you see between individuals do not relate to sex.  The oscars can tell the difference, but people can't.   

 The fact that the one is following the other and not beating it up is a good sign that they MIGHT be a pair.
