Question
My sister gave me her common pleco because she isn't strong enough to clean the tank and her husband is getting lazy. They had two tetras that died but I was wondering what other fish would made good tankmates.Size of the tank is not a problem I can upgrade as large as I need to.Thanks

Answer
Hi Waldo,
A Pleco gets very big, and will get along with most fish.  The only fish I would not recommend is African Cichlids.  A pleco is a fish, a bottom fish who needs to be fed like any other fish,  Algae in a tank is not enough to feed him.  He needs sinking wafers, and sinking shrimp pellets so that he will not starve.  Most any fish get along with plecos, they are not aggressive, or  dangerous, but they need big tanks.
